Have you ever nicked any items from the masculine side of your wardrobe? this Autumn Winter you can easily pinch a few items to wear from your other half.

I recently took a look in my husband’s wardrobe and noticed he’s actually quite trendy without even knowing. I always dress him and it seems this time I can dress up like him.

Big knits, sportswear and blazers are all items you can easily source in your man’s wardrobe. Take a look at how you can style these items with your feminine pieces for a fashion friendly outfit.

Calvin Klein AW17- Vogue

Calvin Klein, Victoria Beckham, Dries van Noten, Céline, Mulberry, Stella McCartney, Isabel Marant, Max Mara and Balenciaga are a few of the designers who showcased power dressing in their AW17 collections, taking inspiration from the good ole 90’s double-breasted- blazers and straight legged trousers stormed through catwalks giving this Winters professional woman a masculine edge. As a reflection of the concrete jungle we live and work in, grey seemed to be the favoured colour.

Luckily My husband also has a thing for double-breasted grey blazers and so I’ve nicked his high-street bargain from ASOS.

I’ve teamed this grey blazer with a black fitted midi-dress and my black Nike Dunk Sky-Hi’s for an easy feminine twist. Try mixing this with a crisp white shirt, some grey trousers and a pair of brogues for a closer replica of this seasons trend.

Burberry AW17- Getty

Burberry, Sportmax, Joseph, Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney and Mulberry showcased big knits the much-loved winter essential although not in a conventional way.

Burberry played with shape and symmetry almost looking like a mish-mash of your favourite cardigans. While Joseph sent an oversized version down the runway.

Personally, I love these fresh and bold takes on the traditional knit and wish I could snuggle into one of these this year but the bank says ‘no’ so I’ve resorted to my husband’s highstreet version from Gap.

Style this for an everyday look with a cute pleated skirt or a pair of wide-legged tailored trousers similar to the styling on the Joseph catwalk.

Sports luxe is a trend that keeps popping up on the catwalks and sportswear brands are celebrating this revolution as the latest celebs are also wearing this trend, from high-end Gucci and Versace to high-street Adidas and Fila.

Catwalks have also seen sports luxe played out in SS18 too by designers like Versus- Versace, Mary Katrantzo and Peter Pilotto.

So the final items I’m taking from my faithful husband are his Adidas sportswear faves, channelling a bit of Gwen Stephani and Rita Ora along the way.

This last steal has been a great addition to my mummy/ relax wardrobe, it’s been easy to wear paired with my favourite metallic Nike Air Force 1’s or my Adidas Superstars for a quick run to the supermarket or the park with the kids.

  1. I often take small items from my husbands wardrobe like socks and the odd tracksuit. Never would I have thought to try one of his blazers and stltlenit with my own clothing! Such an awesome idea, thanks for that and I can’t wait to get home now and rummage through his clothing to see what else might be worth stealing for a brand new look.
